Sifter Film is a short, digital video that attempts to model the mechanics of perception with the simplest of tools. The artist has constructed a homemade apparatus, a mock optical system, to show vision in action. Sifter Film depicts vision as a gathering modality, churning and spinning, scanning and filtering, constructing images that are nearly palpable with a delicate calibration of light. Her work poses the question, “Does one read an image or can one feel a text?”
